About Us

Serving Students K-12 in Somerset, KY

SCS was established in Somerset, KY, by the Pastor’s Council in 2002. It was originally located in one of our local churches while our facility was being completed. Shortly after, we relocated to a beautiful, 76-acre campus and welcomed in 168 new charter members. In the 2014-2015 school year, enrollment reached a record of 378 students — a rise we were proud to support and engage.

The area is economically diverse as is the school population. All students receive some tuition assistance with approximately 20% receiving full tuition, academic, needs-based scholarships. The Lake Cumberland recreational area surrounds the community and supports many of the jobs in the area. The school population is 1% Black, 2% Hispanic, and 97% White.

The school was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 2002 and classes began in 2004. A new 100,000 square foot modern facility was opened for the 2005-2006 School Year. The building houses 375 students from Preschool age through grade 12. There are currently 95 students enrolled in grades 9-12. The school is accredited through the International Christian Accrediting Association and also through AdvancEd of The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS-CASI).
